Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The acquirement of the theoretic pieces of knowledge about human communication (typological model, transaction analytical model etc.) and learn to apply them in modelling situations. The acquirement of a scientific (technical) analyses of social communication regarding to the context.
Syllabus
Theoretical block 1. Interpersonal communication in historical aspect: in the aspect of psychology of philosophy. Social context of communication, contextual modality, socialization. Inner context, relationship figures and social stereotypes. Communication models. 2. Social contacts, interaction, creation of social structure. 3. Nonverbal communication researches. 4. Face-play, visual communication, gestic, haptic and posturalogy. 5. Proximity, kinesiology, face and negotiation communication (chronemics), paralinguistics. 6. Verbal communication, dialogue, implicit and explicit communicating; denotation, connotation. Assertivity. 7. Communication patterns in a group. Communication and self - confidence, self- presentation (self - image). Mediation. 8. Empathic plus agonistic approaches. Carl Ŕoger ś theory, system approaches. Motivation. 9. Theory of communication games, communication according to transaction analyses. Leading styles. Mobbing. 10. Social communication mediated by mass medium, communication in advertisements, bureaucratic institution. Practical block (or workshop) 1. Rhetorical qualifications and acquirements how to train a rhetoric 2. Preparedness,rate (tempo), reflection, demonstrativeness, pathos training. 3. Evaluative, selective, disciplinary and advisory interview. 4. Dysfunctional communication and communication disturbances. Discussion on communication stigmatisation, „ labeling" and categorization of people. A study of applied consequential subjects qualifications.
