I přes obrovskou heterogenitu firem v primárním sektoru sledujeme v jednotlivých letech statisticky významné průměrné efekty a statisticky významné pozitivní výnosy z rozsahu práce.

The study analyzes the primary sector and its productivity during the 2003-2009 period in the Czech Republic. The goal of the research was to capture changes in productivity of enterprises and then compare these changes to the drop of aggregate demand during the period of the start of the economic crisis. The data sample included 12827 observations; it is an unbalanced panel. Regression of panel data with the help of standard econometric production analysis was used in order to evaluate the results. Despite the heterogeneity of companies in the primary sector, statistically significant average effects and positive returns to scale from workers are estimated. The primary sector is more likely to be influenced by the long-term development of world prices and the economic crisis seems to have only short-term impact, especially on the agricultural sector. The impact was more than 50 p.p. higher compared to firms in the mining, forestry and fisheries. The average decline in labor productivity in the entire primary sector was present only in 2008.2
