Abstract
Abstract (in English)
Market and non-market factors of wage determination are not only intertwined, but often misunderstood, and thus often mutually interchanged. Market factors act sometimes even there, where they are not perceived, while non-market factors act in places there the relationships of supply and demand for vage-setting seem to be decisive. The idea that relationship between wages salaries corresponds to differences in personal productivity and skills of employees, it is one of economic illusion affected by general economic theory. Productivity is undoubtedly an essential factor in determining the total amount of wages. This, however, does not mean that it is always the basis for determining individual wages. The article deals with the most frequent situations where wages are determined by factors of supply and demand even though these factors are not clearly visible, but also with situations where their differentiation is caused by a variety of non-market reasons, mainly due to market failures.
