Course objectives supported by learning outcomes

The aim of the subject is the acquisition of the professionaly focused language skills and knowledge. The acquired productive and receptive skills are in accordance with the descriptor of B1+ level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, including the grammatical rules. After the successful completion of the course, the student masters the language skills in order to: - describe professionally oriented situations, express in an efficient way the main essence of the idea or the problem; - talk professionally about the given topics. The student is able to communicate and can take an opinion on the given matter. The student uses the professional vocabulary (with only a little hesitation and using the periphrastic forms) his/her opinion within the scale of the given topics. The student is able to maintain the discussion on the current topics and to apply his/her knowledge in practice.

The management of a selected engineering plant 5. Work safety in a factory 6.looking for work in an industrial company 7.the statistics of an industrial enterprise; the description and interpretation of graphs 8. Working with current professional texts from the field of engineering; the training in processing texts and detailed understanding, student presentations 9.The professional text - manufacturing technology and management 10. Professional texts - foundry technology engine 11.Technical oral communication 12. Technical written communication 13. The engineering fair – the presentation of engineering company principles

Grading of the course for full-time students: First Test/Seminar Work/ … : maximum 30% (0-30 points) Final Test: maximum 70% (0-70 points) Successful graduates of the course have to get totally at least 70 points.
