Enrollment in building typology requires successful completion of the Civil Engineering I course. - Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
- The aim of the course is to master the basics of designing buildings for housing. The student will get acquainted with the basics of design of residential buildings, especially with the placement of buildings on the land and the layout of apartments, houses, apartment buildings, multifunctional buildings, and buildings for people with reduced mobility (part of the teaching is also a practical exercise of mobility in a wheelchair space).
- Learning outcomes
- The student is able to design or evaluate the layout of residential buildings, their location on the land and orientation to the world and the surrounding area.

- 1. Introduction to the issue, the concept of typology in architecture 2. Aspects of housing, location of buildings 3. Definition of an apartment and its fragments 4. Zoning the apartment 5. Historical development of a family house 6. Family houses - typological types 7. Historical development of an apartment building 8. Apartment houses - typological types 9. Apartment buildings - exterior and interior spaces 10. Residential buildings 11. Multifunctional houses 12. Social construction, buildings for temporary accommodation 13. Housing of old people

- Attendance at classes in all forms solves a separate internal standard of VŠTE (Records of student attendance at VŠTE). For full-time students, 70% attendance at seminars and seminars is mandatory. More than 50% attendance at block classes is compulsory for students of the combined form. The student will independently supplement the information provided by the teacher in class during his absence (he will not request it individually from the teacher).
