Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
A business plan is a key tool for every company that wants to succeed on the market in the long term. However, a good plan can only be built on a good business idea. The aim of the course is therefore to guide students through the entire process of developing a business venture – from identifying a business opportunity, through selecting and validating the business idea, to preparing a complete business plan and presenting it. Students first systematically search for business opportunities, evaluate them against defined criteria (market potential, feasibility, available resources and competences, profitability, sustainability) and validate the selected idea with potential customers (customer discovery, problem–solution fit). They then develop the chosen business idea into a business model (Lean Canvas / Business Model Canvas) and subsequently into a full-fledged business plan with a clearly formulated competitive advantage. The course reflects current trends: digital business models, purposeful and critically reflected use of artificial intelligence tools in market research and document preparation, sustainability and corporate social responsibility, and presenting the venture in the form of a pitch. The output of the course is a business plan developed in the form of a case study.
Learning outcomes
After successfully completing the course, the student:
1. identifies and systematically evaluates business opportunities and, based on defined criteria, selects a meaningful and viable business idea,

2. validates the business idea with potential customers and builds a business model (Lean Canvas / Business Model Canvas),

4. can analyse the target market and competition and draw up a marketing and sales plan, an operations plan, an organisational plan and a financial plan,

5. assesses the risks and sustainability of the venture and can predict the future development of the company,

6. uses artificial intelligence tools purposefully and critically when preparing materials and verifies their outputs,

7. applies the formal aspects of a business plan and presents the venture in the form of a pitch.
