Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to provide basic knowledge about business studies and development tendencies and to create a theoretical basis for the study of the following applied subjects. Students get familiar with basic theoretical principles from the field of business activities, they will understand the importance of sustainable development in business studies and they will obtain basic knowledge about retailing. After passing the course successfully students are going to be able to analyse development and globalisation tendencies in business, their influence on consumers and enterprises including deduction of their own opinions.
Learning outcomes
Students are able:
to understand basic terms;
to describe development of trade;
to distinguish between middlemen and intermediaries;
to understand of globalisation of business;
to pay into account the issue of ethics and corporate social responsibility in business;
to explain basic principles of international trade;
to distinguish between wholesaling and retailing;
to understand the principles of e-commerce and e-business.
