Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is to provide basic knowledge about business studies and development tendencies and to create a theoretical basis for the study of the following applied subjects. Students get familiar with basic theoretical principles from the field of business activities, they will understand the importance of sustainable development in business studies and they will obtain basic knowledge about retailing. After passing the course successfully students are going to be able to analyse development and globalisation tendencies in business, their influence on consumers and enterprises including deduction of their own opinions.

to understand differencies between product and service business;
to explain actual trends in retailing;
to understand the business enviroment;
to create business plan;
to explain basic principles of marketing communication and research in business.

Attendance at lessons is defined in a separate internal standard of ITB (Evidence of attendance of students at ITB). It is compulsory, except of the lectures, for full-time students to attend 70 % lesson of the subject in a semester.
