The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the subject is the acquisition of the professionaly focused language skills and knowledge in the field of civil engineering and construction management. The acquired productive and receptive skills are in accordance with the descriptor of B1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, including the grammatical rules. After the successful completion of the course, the student masters the language skills in order to: - describe professionally oriented situations, express in an efficient way the main essence of the idea or the problem; - talk professionally about the given topics. The student is able to communicate and can take an opinion on the given matter. The student uses the professional vocabulary focused on building construction to express (with only a little hesitation and using the periphrastic forms) his/her opinion within the scale of the given economic topics. The student is able to maintain the discussion on the current topics and to apply his/her knowledge in practice.

Assessment Methods and Assesment Rate

Exam conditions
To write one end-term test and present one oral presentation. Test is written at the end of the semester. The oral presentation is held in accordance with the schedule set by the teacher of the course. The score corresponds to the percentage ratio of assessment methods (the oral speech maximum of 20 points, test 80 points, maximum of all parts 100 points). For the successful completion of the course, the students have to achieve at least 70%, or 70 points from all parts. Part-time students have the same conditions, oral part during the semester and written part at the end of the course .
