The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with individual areas of road transport technology and management with an emphasis on safe and ecological operation, to familiarize them with valid legislation, ČSN standards and technical conditions, and at the same time to familiarize them with basic traffic engineering methods of analyzing the current state of traffic in the area being addressed.
Learning outcomes
Graduates of the course are able to characterize the laws of road transport technology and management, measures for reducing the environmental burden of road transport and use the knowledge gained to solve practical problems in this area. By developing exercises, analyses, presentations, methodological skills and solving real situations in the field of road transport management, they will gain knowledge that can be used in transport practice.
Syllabus
1) Introduction, national and international legislative regulations in the field of road transport. 2) Division of road transport branches 1 3) Division of road transport branches 2 4) Basic technological and performance indicators in road transport. 5) Basic economic indicators in road transport. 6) Social legislation in road transport. 7) Theory of traffic flow - basic traffic characteristics, level of traffic flow quality. 8) Road transport infrastructure - land roads in urban and extra-urban areas. 9) Externalities of road transport and possibilities of their reduction. 10) Monitoring of traffic intensity, TP 189 and TP 225, traffic surveys, methods of vehicle detection, ecological detectors. 11) Transport telematics on roads and motorways, road traffic management systems and their support for reducing externalities from road transport. 12) Entrepreneurship in road transport. Technical inspections, registration and insurance of road vehicles and requirements for the ecological operation of road vehicles. 13) Road tax, highway fees and toll systems in the Czech Republic and abroad.

Full-time study: - Students will prepare an independent term paper/project according to the teacher's instructions, for which they can receive up to 20 points. - A maximum of 10 points can be received for a teaching activity. - In the examination period, the student will be evaluated for a maximum of 70 points for the written test.

Combined Studies: - Students will prepare an independent term paper/project according to the teacher's instructions, for which they can receive up to 30 points. - In the examination period, the student will be evaluated for a maximum of 70 points for the written test. Overall classification of the subject, ie points from the exam test (70 - 0) + points from the continuous assessment (30 - 0): A 100 - 90, B 89.99 - 84, C 83.99 - 77, D 76.99 - 73, E 72.99 - 70, FX 69.99 - 30, F 29.99 - 0.

Attendance in lessons is defined in a separate internal standard of ITB (Evidence of attendance of students at ITB). It is compulsory, except of the lectures, for full-time students to attend 70 % lesson of the subjet in a semester.
