- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
- The objective of the course is to teach students to characterize businesses of specific economics in terms of their activity, level of processing, production quantity, size, and to be able to specify such types of business by their structure, specificities, and share in GDP. Special attention is paid to the specificities of businesses operating in selected areas and current issues of the business sector.
- Learning outcomes
- After successful completion of the course, students are able to:
- define basic characteristics of individual businesses within specific economies,
- describe problems of individual types of specific economies,
- explain possible effects in relation to the share of total GDP of specific economies types,
- describe and quantify the main objectives of specific economies (peculiarities of agricultural production),
- decompose the impacts of measures taken in individual areas of specific economies,
- understand the corrective measures taken in the areas of specific economies. - Syllabus

- 2. Industrial production – mining and quarrying, processing industry, generation and distribution of electricity, gas, and water.
- 3. Agriculture – specificities of agricultural production.
- 4. Forestry companies – forest restoration and protection, logging, important activities.
- 5. Civil engineering – its specificities in comparison with industrial production.
- 6. Infrastructure companies – transport, flats, schools, research institutions, energy system, water managementí.
- 7. Banking companies – risk, banking supervision, deposit insurance, capital adequacy, mandatory reserve.
- 8. Banking companies – banking law, basic functions, specificities of bank accounting, banking products.

To successfully complete the subject, it is necessary to achieve a total of at least 70% of the midterm and final evaluation under the conditions set out below. In the continuous evaluation, 30 points can be obtained, ie 30%. A total of 70 points, ie 70%, can be obtained in the final evaluation. Overall classification of the subject, ie points for the final evaluation (70 - 0) + points from the continuous evaluation (30 - 0): A 100 – 90, B 89,99 – 84, C 83,99 – 77, D 76,99 – 73, E 72,99 – 70, FX 69,99 – 30, F 29,99 - 0.

- The course is taught annually.
- Teacher's information
- Attendance in the course is defined in a separate VSTE internal standard (Evidence of student attendance at VSTE) for all forms of study. Students in full-time form of study are obliged to attend at least 70 % of the lessons (except for the lectures). If a student with an individual study plan is not able to participate in the mid-term evaluation, he / she will only prepare an essay and pass the final test (70% of the evaluation), which will also cover the continuous assessment with its content and scope. However, students are obliged to contact the teacher immediately after the approval of the individual study plan and to contact the examiner before the final exam. If the student does not do so, his individual study plan will not be taken into account.
