- Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
- The course is primarily intended as an introduction in the study at university. Individual lectures will deal with rather a general theoretical background of the university environment, its objectives, or the requirements for the ethics in scientific research, but mostly with a practical guideline for studying and study life at VSTE. The students will first acquire theoretical competencies necessary for understanding the historical context of the origin and changes in the university environment until its current form, and refresh and deepen the theoretical knowledge in the areas of ethics and etiquette. The second teaching block will be focused on practical competencies, in which the students will learn about the specificities of the study at VSTE, its functioning, structure, regulations, and organization of the study.
- Learning outcomes
- Students systematize the idea of higher education in the world/in the Czech Republic
Based on the information obtained, students systematise the idea of VSTE structure and functioning; learn about the meaning and objectives of the VSTE environment
Students acquire and deepen communicative competencies, the basics of ethics and etiquette that are used in further study, creative activities, and practical life
Students effectively use the knowledge obtained in the area of ethics of science in their creative and scientific activities
Students understand the basic principles of university rules and norms, they are aware of their rights and obligations
Students choose and use effective and suitable methods and strategies for their study, are able to plan and organize their study, acquire the competencies necessary for solving technical and organizational problems that may arise in the course of the study
Students are aware of the meaning and added value of their participation in international activities and study abroad for their professional career - Syllabus

Final test - 100 % (i.e. 100 points)
For successful completion of the course it is necessary to achieve at least 70 % of the course and final test together. Students in the full-time form of study are obliged to participate in 70 % of the lessons (except for lectures). If this condition is not fulfilled, the student will automatically get “F” grade.

- Teacher's information
- Students with an individual study plan will take only a 100-point final test in the exam period. However, students are obliged to contact the teacher immediately after the approval of the individual study plan (ISP), if the student does not do so, his ISP will not be taken into account. (In case of any questions, the student can contact the teacher via email: jenesova@mail.vstecb.cz).
