Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The course objective is to improve the language competence level in general language to B2 level according to CEFR in all productive and receptive skills. The students who have completed the course successfully can follow a complicated exchange of opinions, they can understand the majority of films that maintain received pronunciation. They can understand articles and news depicting contemporary problems and texts that belong among contemporary literature. They can take part in the conversation with native speakers and speak fluently and spontaneously. They can explain their point of view concerning contemporary problems and state advantages and disadvantages of various solutions. Their range of vocabulary is sufficient to create clear descriptions, without longer hesitations and with the help of subordinate clauses. They are able to avoid mistakes which could cause misunderstanding. They can initiate, maintain and close the conversation. They are able to conduct a clear, structured and well-developed presentation, in which they highlight the main ideas, include sufficient detail information, develop the ideas and supports them by additional arguments and relevant examples. They are able to write a film, a book or a play review. They are able to paraphrase in order to make up for inadequacies in their vocabulary and grammar both in written and spoken form.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course the student will be able to:
understand different types of professional and colloquial texts
derive meanings of unknown words from the context
understand detailed information while listening and take notes
use all verb tenses and form questions in them
tell different types of stories and express feelings and desires
conduct an interview and respond with interest
handle even nonlinear text construction
write a description, reflection, story.

Exam conditions
Full-time study: Write a final test and take a written / oral test. The written / oral test takes place according to the schedule compiled by the teacher. The final test requires knowledge of the language at the B2 level according to SERRJ. The point evaluation corresponds to the percentage of evaluation methods (written oral test max. 30 points, final test max. 70 points. The maximum number of points from both parts is 100). Overall classification of the course, ie points for the test (70 - 0) + points for the written / oral test (30 - 0): included 100 - 70, possibility to repeat the test 69.99 - 30, not included 29.99 - 0. For successful Completion of the course must achieve at least 70%, ie 70 points from both parts together. For students of part-form study: Write a final test at the end of the semester and take a written / oral test. The written / oral test takes place according to the schedule compiled by the teacher.
