- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
- The aim of the course is to achieve the language level of the students to B1- according to CEFR. AFter successful completion of the course, the students understand basic phrases and vocabulary related to everyday life (provide basic information about themselves and their families or other persons, situations in everyday life). The students understand brief announcements and reports, are able to read short simple texts and look up basic information in advertisements, menus or timetables. They are able to understand and write short personal letters and emails. They are able to communicate in everyday life situations, request information on familiar topics, describe life conditons, education, current or previous job. Students are able to write short reports and notes related to the personal needs.
- Learning outcomes
- After successful completion of the course, the students are able to: - understand a simple text about everyday life of people. - catch the main point in short, clear, simple messages and announcements. - agree on what to do, where to go, and make arrangements to meet. - describe past activities and experiences. - write about aspects of his/her everyday life in simple phrases and sentences.

Final Test 70 % (0 – 70 points) and semester exam 30% (0-30). The final test requires the B1- level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Successful graduates of the course have to get totally at least 70 points (from both parts of tests).

- Attendance in lessons is defined in a separate internal standard of ITB (Evidence of attendance of students at ITB). It is compulsory, except for the lectures, for full-time students to attend 70 % lesson of the subject in a semester.
STudents will pass the semestral exam before the end of the instruction, Final test is written in a paper or electronic form using computers. Students are required to participate actively in seminars
