Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basics of scientific work and their use in the preparation of a diploma thesis. After successful completion, students will be able to independently work on a selected topic using their own professional knowledge and skills, professional literature and internal materials of companies, formulate conclusions and defend them. Practically oriented diploma theses can be prepared by students in the course of professional practice.
Learning outcomes
The student is introduced to the basics of scientific work and their use in the preparation of the thesis. He/she is able to independently elaborate a selected topic with the use of his/her own professional knowledge and skills, professional literature and internal materials of companies, formulate conclusions of the thesis and defend them.
Syllabus
1.-10. Thesis project: thesis topic selection, information gathering. Work with literature, determination of objectives, working hypothesis, problem solving - methods of solution, application in practice. Structure of the thesis. Editing of thesis: page layout, text structure, tables, figures, etc. Bibliographic Citation, reference to citation and list of references. Evaluation of the thesis and its defence. 11. Presentation of the thesis project at the seminar 12. Presentation of the theoretical and methodological part of the thesis at the seminar 13. The credit is registered on the basis of the following conditions: adherence to the DP organization schedule, attendance at consultations with the DP supervisor, own elaboration according to the syllabus, a positive evaluation from the supervisor and a recommendation for the defence.

In the semester in which the student wishes to complete his/her studies with a defence, the student enrols in the course Diploma Thesis (abbreviation of the course according to the relevant recommended curriculum). Once the student has enrolled in the Diploma Thesis course, he/she must remember to enroll in the seminar group with his/her thesis advisor! It is the student's responsibility to check if the thesis topic is listed in the information system (IS). The student will submit the thesis (in electronic form only) by the specified deadline according to the schedule for submission of qualifying theses.
