- The content of the course is to acquaint students with the concept and functions of corporate purchasing and supply. To teach them to manage stocks in conditions of certainty and uncertainty, ie. be able to apply supply models, know the methods and techniques of modern inventory management.
- Learning outcomes
- After successfully completing the course, the student:
1. understands the concepts related to purchasing and supplying a company,
2. understands the functions and organization of corporate purchasing,
3. manages the purchasing process in a company,
4. selects a suitable supplier based on evaluation,
5. understands inventory planning and understands determining the material assortment and material consumption,
6. characterizes individual types of inventory in a company,
7. determines the optimal costs of inventory and safety stock,
8. understands the inventory management process in a company and the supply system,
9. manages the supply in a company through inventory management models and predicts trends in inventory management,
10. understands supply systems and supply chains. - Syllabus

- 1. Definition of the concept of purchasing and supply.
- 2. Functions and organization of the corporate purchasing process.
- 3. Purchasing marketing model, selection and evaluation of suppliers.
- 4. Purchasing planning and types of inventory - determination of material assortment and material consumption, support of circular economy 5. Classification of inventory by industry
- 6. Inventory management process and inventory costs in the company (Just in Time and Kanban)
- 7. Integration of purchasing through the company's value chain - definition of purchasing with regard to the green deal
- 8. Supply Chain Management (SCM) - What questions must a logistics chain manager address?
- 9. Inventory theory models.
- 10. Dynamic deterministic models - single-product and multi-product models.
- 11. Dynamic stochastic models.
- 12. Safety stock and its determination.

- Test – mid-term 30 %
Test – final 70 % - Exam conditions
- For successful completion of the course it is necessary to achieve at least 70 % of the course and final test together under the conditions specified below. In the course test, students can get up to 30 points, i.e. 30 %. In the final test, students can get up to 70 points, i.e. 70 %. Grading for the course, i.e. points for the final test (70 - 0) + points for the course test (30 - 0): A 100 – 90, B 89.99 – 84, C 83.99 – 77, D 76.99 – 73, E 72.99 – 70, FX 69.99 – 30, F 29.99 – 0.
Students in the full-time form of study are obliged to participate in 70 % of the lessons (except for lectures). If this condition is not fulfilled, the student will automatically get “-” grade.

- Attendance in lessons is defined in a separate internal standard of ITB (Evidence of attendance of students at ITB). It is compulsory, except of the lectures, for full-time students to attend 70 % lesson of the subject in a semester.
Students of part-time study will do part-test at third session.
Students with an individual study plan will take only a 100-point final test in the exam period. However, students are required to contact the teacher immediately upon approval of the individual study plan (ISP). If the student does not do so, his ISP will not be taken into account. In case of any questions, they can contact the subject guarantor.
