The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The subject provides the review about the most important enginiering technologies to students by the form of lectures and exercise. It also provides the reviuw about facilities, suitability, ways and the condicions of implementation of these technologies. It is the importent part of qualification all technical workers in ingineering. The chosen technologies wil be explained in details in the tied subject Engineering technology II. The abilities in the area of creation of technological equipments will be developed by the subject Production supported by computer.
Learning outcomes
Student is able to acquire the following skills: - in the field of technological process development - programming of CNC technological equipment - computer-aided production - to name the basic principles of the technology of machining materials - develop production processes
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction to engineering technologies, basic division; the importance of knowledge of technologies for product design, preparation and organization of production and repair 2. Semi-finished products and preforms - basics of metallurgy, foundry, forming and welding 3. Heat treatment of metallic materials - types, influence on mechanical and technological properties, suitability with examples of use; technological equipment and conditions; control of results 4. Material division - mechanical, thermal and other methods; suitability with application examples; technological equipment 5. Cold forming - volume and area; technological equipment, tools and conditions 6. Machining - theory of chip formation; basic division of methods, technological conditions, achieved parameters 7. Machining - machines, tools; automation 8. Plastics industry - production from polymers: mixing, grinding, granulation, rolling, extrusion, spinning, pressing, injection, shaping, painting, dipping, casting 9. Composite materials - production technology; gluing 10. Surface treatment - reasons, conditions, methods and materials; implementation procedures, technological equipment 11. Technology of assembly and repairs - documentation, working procedures, assembly equipment, jigs and aids; organization, work safety 12. Technological procedures - general principles of creation, technical documentation; case studies 13. Technological procedures - creation with computer support, philosophy of CAD / CAM systems

Attendance in lessons is defined in a separate internal standard of ITB (Evidence of attendance of students at ITB). It is compulsory, except of the lectures, for full-time students to attend 70 % lesson of the subjet in a semester.
