Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The course objective is to deepend the student knowledge to the level corresponding to B1 according to the Common European Referrence Frame for language, as well as the further development of communication skills and to unify the knowledge of all students in the course to achieve the B1 level. Emphasis is put on the development of dialogic competencies, understanding the written language, and communication skills related to the ability to have a conversation on a general topic.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the students are able to;
1. understand the main idea pronounced in a standard language on everyday topics;
2. understand the texts that contain the vocabulary often used in everyday life or related to their work;
3. are able to spontanneously participate in a conversation on a well-known or everyday topics;
4. are able to tell a story or a plot of a book / film and express their opinion/describe their reactions;
5. write simple texts on a well-known or interesting topics;

Semester test 30 points (30 % = 25 points for speaking exam, 5 points for written exam during the semester) - full-time students 30 %
on-line on IS VSTE through "ROPOT" - daily study programm 70 %
on-line on IS VSTE through "ROPOT" - combined study programme 100 %
Exam conditions
Full-time form of study:

Grading of the course both for full-time students: an exam during the semester, written test in the examination period. Successful graduates of the course have to get at least 70 points (from both parts together).

Continuous evaluation:

Semester test 30 % (25 % speaking exam, 5 % written test)

Final test:

Final test using ROPOT in the IS (70 %)

Combined form of study:

Grading of the course both for part-time students: written test in the examination period. Successful graduates of the course have to get at least 70 points.

Final test:

Final test using ROPOT in the IS (100 %)

The course is taught annually.
Teacher's information
Lessons will be a combination of prerecorded videos and powerpoint presentations accessible in the IS during the semester (45 min) and online teaching (practising, reviewing, consultations - 45 min) via MS Teams, with both video and audio recording.

Students in a full-time form of study are required to participate in at least 70 % of the seminars. Shall the students fail to meet this requirement, they are automatically awarded "F"
