Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
Extend of the course affects the wide range of the finishing works including the indroduction to the formation of the defects and disorders of these works to the methods of their correction. The aim of this course is not only to present these defects to students, but to present mainly the variants and possible combinations of the single methods of mending and variability of the materials used for it.
Learning outcomes
The student recognizes the defects of the finishing works, knows their causes and is able to propose their remediation (remediation).
Syllabus
  • ­Fields of finishing and mutual technological relations Binding of materials and their mutual compatibility, chemical degradation Effects of aging and degradation of materials in structural assemblies. Degradation processes arising from volume changes Technological, microbiological, humid defects of cladding, paving stone and ceramics Wood in interior and exterior, behavior, biocorrosion and preventive measures. Disorders and remediation of surface treatment Disorders and remediation of outdoor areas, restoration works Natural and forced ventilation of buildings and structures, the consequences of changes in ventilation system Defects and repair sheet metal work The color and its participation on structure behavior and defects Balconies and railings, disorders of temperature and humidity load Defects and failures of windows, doors, shop windows, roof windows, skylights
