- To acquaint a student with the basics of general theory of elasticity, solution of problems of elasticity and strength on bodies of special shapes, dimensioning components under cyclic loading, fracture mechanics and dynamic deformation and stress analysis of one-dimensional linear continuum.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the subject, student will be able:
- to describe mathematically spatial strain, define boundary states, and formulate strength conditions
- to solve strength and deformation problems on bodies of special shapes
- to dimension the components during cyclic loading
- to work with the basic concepts of fracture mechanics
- to apply modern matrix methods in solving the modal and spectral properties of the continuum
- to create mathematical models for solving the dynamic stress and deformation analysis of a one-dimensional continuum - Syllabus
