- The aim is to provide an overview of the internal microclimate of the building and the factors influencing it, the requirements that must be fulfilled to meet the health standards and ways to improve quality of the internal air quality to eliminate and/or reduce the health hazards. Upon successful completion of the course, student will be able to: Define the internal microclimate of buildings and explain the reasons of pollution or deterioration of quality of internal air due to construction defects or poor choice of materials and other processes occurring in the indoor environment; Describe the characteristics of pollutants in indoor air and characteristics of harmful building materials from health point of view; List the basic legislation on air protection, health, suitability of building materials in relation to safety and health and demonstrate the ability to orient in legislative conditions; To evaluate the indoor air in terms of quality, to find the causes of pollution and recommend measures; Design methods and procedures to eliminate or reduce adverse impacts in terms of health

- 1st lecture Man and his environment.
- 2nd lecture Factors of indoor environment of buildings and general hygienic requirendments.
- 3rd lecture Indoor environment, factors affecting individual components microclimate.
- 4th lecture Moisture and mold in the building, safeguards against these phenomena.
- 5th lecture Other biological factors harmful to health in buildings.
- 6th lecture Pollutants (pollutants) in indoor air - sources and minimization, sanitary requirements.
- 7th lecture Principles of determination of indoor environment parameters and concentrations of selected pollutants.
- 8th lectureBuilding materials as a source of toxic substances - formaldehyde and other volatile substances, asbestos, heavy metals, phthalates, radionuclides, from building materials and construction waste from health perspective.

- 10th lecture.Protection measures against radon in new buildings, radon measures in existing buildings
- 11th lectureAsbestos in construction. The risk of manipulation asbestos. Asbestos survey.

- An essay on a given topic is to be submitted by 12th week and mid-term test will be given ~ 9th week. The exam is written. A 100 – 90, B 89,99 – 84, C 83,99 – 77, D 76,99 – 73, E 72,99 – 70, FX 69,99 – 30, F 29,99 - 0. Questions of attendance in all form of instructions have been dealt with in separate internal norms of VŠTE (Evidence of attendance of students at VŠTE). For full-time students , in case of contact teaching, is everything except the lectures, 70% attendance is coémpulsory.
