  • 1. Structural materials - overview. Material characteristics. of structural materials from their application point of view. Material characteristics. 2. Structural materials based on ferrous alloys. Steels and cast irons. 3. Structural materials based on nonferrous alloys. Metals and alloys with low, middle and high melting point. Light metals and alloys. Noble metals and alloys. 4. Plastics. Structure of polymers. Thermoplastics and thermosetting polymers. Plastics. Elastomers. 5. Structural ceramics and glasses. Structure of ceramics. Structure of glass. Composition of ceramics. Structural ceramic and glass - overview. 6. Composites. / Matrix. Reinforcing phases. Types of structural composites. 7. Principles of material characteristics testing. Testing and evaluation of chemical composition, structure and selected material characteristics. Materials testing. Testing of materials mechanical properties. 8. Engineering technology. An introduction. Category and fundamental using. 9. Chipless-machining technology. Cutting, forming, welding, brazing, plastics and their moulding. 10. Cutting technology. Fundamental terms, kinematics, tool and his geometry, methods of cutting, turning, boring, milling. 11. Modern manufacturing machinery. CNC machine particularities and their programming. 12. Engineering metrology. Length and angles measurement, units definition, lengths and angles standards, lengths and angles gauges partition. Evaluation of surface structure. 13. Lengths and angles method and gauges. Construction gauges requirements, measuring methods, fundamental gauges, measurement errors their assessment. Lengths and angles verification accuracy. Fundamental instruments and gauges and their using, errors measuring assignment.
