- Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
- Effective management of material flows in the logistic system is not possible without an effective information system function, which has recently been described as a logistic information system. The task of logistic information system is to create an environment for coordinating logistics activities related to the management of material flows in supply chains. Course graduate will be able to describe the principle and the function of logistic information systems, to define the logistic chains. Students are able to describe the general systematic methods and acquire basic theoretical and methodological prerequisites for application of logistic methods.
- Syllabus
- 1) Logistics - Idea of logistics, development of logistics. The concept and basic principles of logistic information system (LIS).
- 2) Modern information technology. Information technology as a tool for making the decisions.
- 3) Integrated Logistics. A systemic approach to integrated logistics. 4) The requirements for the information system from the perspective of logistics. The importance of information systems for the transport and logistics sector.
- 5) Architecture of LIS, composition and approaches to the creation of logistic information systems.
- 6) Corporate Logistic System - types, structure, use.
- 7) Warehouse management and selected systems for its organization and management. Evidence of material.
- 8) Methods for solving logistics systems.
- 9) Information systems in transport and supply chains.
- 10) Automatic identification in logistics and transport.
- 11) Information systems in public passenger transport.
- 12) Information systems in Production logistics.
- 13) Logistic Technologies - Just-in-time method, Kanban system, Hub and Spoke, Cross-docking
