The aim is to present low energy and passive houses. After successful completion of the course the student is able to summarize the basic requirements for low-energy and passive houses. S/he can design a compostion of structure enveloping the heated space. S/he can calculate the heat transfer coefficient around the window. S/he can count in teh programme Simulation (Svoboda Software), and according to current standards to assess the maximum daily air temperature in the room during the summer. S/he can count in the programme Simulation (Svoboda Software) a specific heat demand for heating and primary energy need.
Syllabus
1) Introduction, legal standards, regulations, ČSN. 2) Energetic label of the object, the distribution of heat loss in the building. 3) Effect of location of the object, the shape of the object layout. 4) Creating a dynamic multi-zone thermal models of buildings or parts of buildings. 5) Options, heating and ventilation in passive houses. 6) Heat pump - a principle use. 7) Introduction to the use of solar radiation, solar gains. 8) Trends in hole filling. 9) The issue of double glazed facade, Trombe`s walls. 10) Optical properties, reflectance, transmittance and absorption of radiation transparent material in the peripheral structures. 11) The houses covered with earth. 12) Limitation of air permeability of buildings cover - Blower Door Test - meaning and design. 13) Ventilation in passive and low energy buildings and examples of realization of low-energy and passive buildings.
