The student will secure the object or objects on which the project will be processed in advance. Suitable residential, civil, industrial or agricultural construction. Initial documents for the project: - construction diagrams of the selected object (original drawings - floor plans, sections and details + excerpt from the original technical report) - construction surveys of the object (description of condition and behavior of structures, defects (in cooperation with the user), photo documentation, or survey results and previous surveys, expert and expert opinions (if any)).
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to gain knowledge about the problems of failures of building structures and the possibility of their repairs, reconstructions and renovations. This applies to buildings of a terrestrial nature (residential buildings, buildings of civic amenities, industrial and agricultural buildings), including historic and listed buildings. The issue of masonry structures, wooden structures of ceilings and trusses, remediation of wet masonry and structural and physical failures will be discussed in detail.
Learning outcomes
On the basis of completing the course, the student will very well understand the issues of masonry structures, wooden structures of ceilings and trusses, remediation of wet masonry and structural and physical defects.

Teacher's information
Breakdown of work according to IS instructions. 1.Seminar work RECONSTRUCTION OF SELECTED PARTS OF THE BUILDING OBJECT Prepare a study and project documentation for the selected object. Assignment: Own object approved by the teacher in the exercise. choice of buildings for both projects: suitable residential, civic, industrial or agricultural. Initial documents for the project: - structural diagrams of the selected object (original drawings – floor plans, sections and details + extract from the original technical report) - building surveys of the object (description of the condition and behavior of the structures, occurrence of defects (in cooperation with the user), photo documentation, possibly the results of soundings and previous surveys, expert and expert opinions (if any)). Breakdown: 1) Identification data of the building, builder, designer. 2) Initial documents for the project. 3) Goal of reconstruction (assignment). 4) Brief description of the object and basic constructions, inclusion of the original construction in the historical development. 5) Description of the current state of the building and diagrams of existing compositions (perimeter shell, floors, ceilings). 6) Analysis of selected faults in terms of materials, thermal technology, statics and function. 7) Description of the fault including photo documentation. 8) Fault analysis – what is the cause of the fault. 9) Proposal of solutions in several variants, description of the proposed structures and justification of the proposal of these solutions. 10) Multicrireria evaluation of variants based on point 9. Drawing documentation: - Original condition - drawing or survey in the form of a study (can also be part of the reconstruction study) - Floor plan drawing with marking of faults and marking of individual images, photo documentation. - New condition - ALL PREVIOUS DRAWINGS (of original condition) BUT WITH GRAPHIC DESIGNATION OF SUGGESTED MEASURES !!! - Transverse and longitudinal section of the object - M 1: 50 (1:100). - Situation - Thermal and humidity assessment of the composition. The assessment will include the design of the composition, calculation - e.g. HEAT program and evaluation, the composition must comply with the requirements of ČSN 73 05 40:2011. - Approx. 4 x – details of construction modifications M 1: 5 – 1:10 (A3-A4 format), as needed. FORM OF PROCESSING drawings – ČSN 01 3420:2004. Drawings of building structures - drawing drawings of building parts. Czech standardization institute. 2004-08-01. Study (details) – freehand pencil sketches – freehand pencil, 2.Presentation corresponding to the lecture for 15 min. Citation of text and images in seminar work and presentation according to ČSN ISO 690:2011. Sources will be given for images and material taken. Maximum agreement with another document up to 50%. If exceeded = plagiarism = the work will not be graded. The semester project is not returned for revision.

Participation in classes in all forms is dealt with by a separate VŠTE internal standard (Student Attendance Records at VŠTE). For full-time students, 70% participation in contact classes, i.e. everything except lectures, is mandatory.
The course is also listed under the following terms summer 2021, summer 2022, SUMMER 2023.
