Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to deepen the professional language and technical knowledge that students acquired in the previous course, English for Engineering I, by expanding topics relevant to professional life in the field of engineering. Students will learn to express complex technical phenomena, describe mechanisms, reactions, and changes of state, as well as apply appropriate grammatical structures to clearly convey causes, consequences, and potential risks in technical situations. Additionally, the course focuses on practical applications that enable students to communicate effectively in professional and technical environments, whether through oral presentations or detailed written reports.
Learning outcomes
Students are able to:
- Describe processes and changes in technical systems, including material reactions and changes of state caused by forces, heat, or deformations;
- Create and read technical documentation in English, including descriptions of engineering processes, design solutions, and safety instructions;
- Use complex grammatical structures, including conditional and modal sentences, to convey technical information and specifications;
- Express themselves clearly and concisely in technical English on topics such as the workplace environment, health and safety, mechanical joints, forces, stress, motion, energy, and other technical processes..

Exam conditions
For successful completion of the course, the students are required to achieve at least 70 points (70 %), where: semester exam (in the form of presentation) - max. 30 points, i.e. 30 %. Final test - max. 70 points, i.e.70 %. Overall grading of the course (semester exam + final test): A 100-90, B 89,99 – 84, C 83,99 – 77, D 76,99 – 73, E 72,99 – 70, FX 69,99 – 30, F 29,99 – 0. Students in a full-time form of study are required to participate in at least 70 % of the seminars.

Full-time students are obliged to attend 70% of seminars. For successful completion, students must actively participate in the seminars and perform the assigned tasks.

Students with an Individual Study Plan (ISP) must notify the teacher no later than the second week of the semester. Students with an ISP must complete both midterm and final assessments. The midterm assessment will take place on a date agreed with the teacher. The date must be arranged with the teacher no later than two weeks before the end of the class period.
