- Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
- The aim of the course is to introduce students to effective employee motivation tools, both financial and non-financial. The focus is on the practical application of motivational approaches in people management, understanding the impact of motivation on job performance, and identifying factors that lead to demotivation. The course also includes practical examples and demonstrations of how to design motivational systems.
- Learning outcomes
- Upon successful completion of the course, the student: - understands the importance of employee motivation and remuneration, knows the main theories of work motivation and can apply them in practice, can design, organize and evaluate surveys of employee motivation and satisfaction - understands the importance and method of creating pay scales of the organization, understands the differences between different types of pay scales and their importance - understands personal differences in employee motivation and their relationship to performance - understands the principles of creating a motivational component of wages, can design and use various tools of performance remuneration - understands the principles of creating and using employee benefits, understands the non-financial incentive tools and competencies of the manager

- Seminars 1. Motivation and remuneration of employees, their goals and tools - analysis of a practical example. 2. Types of work motivation, individual differences in employee motivation - guided discussion of a practical example. 3. Tools of financial and material motivation - illustrations on examples of specific companies 4. Tools and psychological foundations of non-financial motivation - illustrations on examples of specific companies 5. Motivational tools of the leader - analysis of a practical example. 6. Creating a fixed wage system and its principles - analysis of a practical example 7. Types of performance wages - analysis on the example of a specific company 8. Creation of employee benefits - an example from practice. 9. The most common mistakes of remuneration systems in practice - analysis of a practical example. 10. Managerial and communication skills for non-financial motivation - demonstration and training 11. Motivational interviews with employees - illustrations and analysis of specific examples 12. Surveys of satisfaction and motivation of employees - demonstration and analysis of the results of a specific survey from practice 13. The most common mistakes of managers in motivating employees - analysis of practical examples.

- Successful graduates of the course have to get totally at least 70 points under the following conditions: Mid-term grading: maximum 30% (0-30 points). Final grading: maximum 70% (0-70 points). Classification: credited (Z) 100 -70, possibility to repeat the test (NX) 69.99 - 30, not credited (N) 29.99 - 0.

- The course is taught annually.
- Teacher's information
- The students of the full-time form of study are obliged to fulfill the 70% attendance at the seminars. If the attendance is not met, the students will be automatically classified with the grade "-". Students with an individual study plan will take only a 100-point final test in the exam period. However, students are obliged to contact the teacher immediately after the approval of the individual study plan (ISP), if the student does not do so, his ISP will not be taken into account. (In case of any questions, the student can contact the teacher via email: klementova@vstecb.cz).
