N2  - This article deals with the topical issue of intercultural awareness in the teaching (there is an example of English as a Second Language). The aim of this paper is to highlight the importance of intercultural awareness, and thus bring the students to realize that learning a foreign language is not just mastering the grammar, but also understanding the cultural elements of the second-language speakers during their study and in this way subsequently understanding the attitudes, values and behaviour of the language/culture being studied.
