Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
After completing the course, students can systematize knowledge of general didactics, can show and apply their importance in pedagogical practice. Students are able to develop independent didactic thinking, they can understand didactics in terms of development, change and pedagogical innovation.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students
- understands the subject of general didactics and teaching process;
- can describe the basic elements of the didactic system;
- can formulate specific goals in the teaching process;
- knows organizational forms of teaching;
- can classify teaching methods from different perspectives;
- knows the material means of teaching;
- knows the teacher's competencies to ensure an effective teaching process; - knows the didactic principles of the teaching process and their application in pedagogical practice.
Syllabus
  • 1. Didactics as a scientific discipline. Relationship between general didactics and subject didactics. Teaching process.
  • 2. The concept of teaching in the concept of J. F. Herbart. The concept of teaching in the concept of J. Dewey.
  • 3. The system of teaching methods in a comprehensive concept of the teaching process.
  • 4. The relationship between teacher and student.
  • 5. Teaching competencies. Teacher's personality, teacher's didactic skills, mutual relationship between teacher and pupils in the teaching process.
  • 6. Didactic transformation of the curriculum. Curriculum and its selection, the function of the goal in the teaching process. Organization of curriculum in pedagogical documents. Didactic analysis of the curriculum.
  • 7. Aim of teaching. Preparation for the lesson.
  • 8. Organizational forms of teaching.
  • 9. Evaluation as an integral part of teaching.
  • 10. Didactic means and modern didactic technique in the teaching process.
  • 11. Assessment and reflection in teaching.
  • 12. Pedagogical innovations in the current school.
