- The aim of the course is to introduce students to the theoretical principles of management of organizational and management systems including their subsystems, the history of management development, the personality of the manager and basic managerial functions. The student will also be introduced to the principles and principles of process management and reconfiguration of business processes with an emphasis on environmental sustainability and green transformation.
- Learning outcomes
- 1. understands the nature of the emergence of corporate governance and scientific development schools, including current trends in sustainable management,
2. understand the division of the enterprise into systems, the relevant subsystems and the main components of the corporate environment,
3. understand the process of managerial emergence, the basic managerial functions (planning, organising, decision-making, leadership, communication, control) and their relevance to corporate governance,
. 4. learns the principles of process management of the enterprise and understands its principles and principles,
. 5. understand the classification of business processes, including their environmental impacts,
. 6. understand the theoretical principles of the innovation process of business processes,
. 7. understand the theoretical principles of business process reconfiguration,
. 8. understands the essence of process management of business enterprise models,
. 9. understands the concept of ESG (environmental, social and governance) and its role in corporate strategies. - Syllabus
- Lectures:
- 1. Introduction to the theory of corporate governance (history of corporate governance, premises and paradigm).
- 2. Definition of the enterprise as a system and its subsystems. 3. Definition of the corporate environment with a focus on ecological factors and sustainable development.
- 4. Definition, profile and position of the manager.
- 5. Managerial functions (planning, organizing, decision-making). 6. Managerial functions (leadership, communication, control).
- 7. The emergence and definition of process management.
- 8. Basics and principles of sustainable process management in an organisation.
- 9. Classification of the main business processes.
- 10. Basics of business process innovation in environmental sustainability: definition, nature and types.
- 11. Methods of evaluating business processes in terms of their environmental impact.
- 12. Business process reconfiguration.
- 13. Current trends in process management within business models (digitisation of processes and circular economy).

- 1. Characteristics of the enterprise from the manufacturing and industrial sector (engineering, construction, transport) in terms of size categorization, focus, economic situation of the enterprise and basic characteristics of the sector in which the selected enterprise operates.
- 2. Definition and description of the environment of the selected enterprise.
- 3. departmental and process decomposition of the organisational system. 4. Determination of business objectives for the relevant management levels with a focus on environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
- 5. Basic characteristics of the enterprise architecture (governance, competency relationships by management level). 6. The role of ESG (environmental, social and governance) in corporate strategies.
- 7. Definition of key customer-oriented business processes.
- 8. Examination of key customer-facing business processes, including identification of their environmental impact and opportunities for improvement.

- 10. Assessment of the expected benefits of introducing green technologies and practices within the enterprise.
- 11. Establish a timetable for the implementation of the proposed initiatives in the selected enterprise while adhering to the principles of green transformation.

Case Study 30 % - Exam conditions
- For successful completion of the course it is necessary to achieve a minimum of 70% in the sum of the continuous and final assessment under the conditions set out below.
30 points can be obtained in the continuous assessment, i.e. 30%.
A total of 70 points, i.e. 70 %, may be obtained in the final assessment.
Overall classification of the course, i.e. final assessment points (70 - 0) + continuous assessment points (30 - 0): A 100 - 90, B 89.99 - 84, C 83.99 - 77, D 76.99 - 73, E 72.99 - 70, FX 69.99 - 30, F 29.99 - 0.
A full-time student is required to meet the mandatory 70% attendance in contact classes, i.e. everything except lectures. If attendance is not met, the student will automatically be graded "-".
As part of the continuous evaluation, the student will prepare a case study on a topic assigned by the instructor.

- Attendance in all forms of study is regulated by a separate internal standard of the VŠTE (Recording of Student Attendance at the VŠTE). For full-time students, 70% attendance is compulsory in seminars and exercises. Information for students with an ISP (Individual Study Plan). If a student with an ISP is unable to attend the interim assessment of a course, he/she will complete the interim assessment on a date agreed with the teacher. A student with an Individual Study Plan is required to contact the instructor immediately upon approval of the ISP. If the student fails to do so, his/her ISP will not be considered. If students with an ISP have any questions, they may contact the course advisor via email at strakova@vste.cz.
