Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquire vocabulary related to the work environment and professional topics in your field and to acquire professional formal and informal communication in written and oral form, especially in the context of job interviews, emails and professional presentations. Students will learn to manage, understand and critically evaluate professional texts in English relating to design, materials, manufacturing processes and technologies, be able to describe complex processes, including their causes and consequences, and propose and present different solutions to professional problems using correct grammatical structures.

Student: - knows vocabulary related to the work environment and professional topics in his/her field - is able to communicate effectively both formally and informally in written and oral form - is able to understand and critically evaluate professional texts within their field of study - be able to work with technical terms and describe complex processes, including their causes, consequences and problem solving

Assessment Methods and Assesment Rate
Test – final 70 %
Presentation 30 %
Exam conditions
Final Test 70 % (0 – 70 points) and semester exam 30% (0-30). The final test requires the B1+ level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Successful graduates of the course have to get totally at least 70 points (from both parts of tests).

The course is taught annually.
Teacher's information
Attendance in lessons is defined in a separate internal standard of ITB (Evidence of attendance of students at ITB). It is compulsory, except for the lectures, for full-time students to attend 70 % of the lessons on the subject in a semester. The continuous and final assessment shall also apply to students with ISP. The information about the approved ISP must be announced to the teacher/guarantor no later than the second week of the instruction period. The student and teacher will agree on the specific date of the continuous assessment. The date must be set no later than two weeks before the end of the semester.
