Students will be able to effectively use the outputs of their work for their study. The third area, on which the student will get an overview, is using databases. They will also be familiar with basic concepts and be able to use applications for creating databases and working with them.

- The student has the knowledge in the range of the ECDL modules M1, M2, skills gained by studying the INF_1 course are an advantage.
- Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
- The aim of this course is to gain and complement the knowledge and practical skills in using personal computers in the range of the ECDL modules M9, M5 and M6 and partly AM6. After the successful completing of the course, the students will have an overview of concepts of simple digital graphics processing and they will be able to create and edit this graphics. After that, students will learn the principles of the presentation design and about the tools for its creation, which will be able to use on advanced user level. Students will be able to effectively use the outputs of their work for their study. The third area, on which the student will get an overview, is using databases. They will also be familiar with basic concepts and be able to use applications for creating databases and working with them.
- Syllabus
- 1. - 3. The full ECDL module M9 (Digital images editing and the basics of computer graphics) - types of computer graphics, image manipulation (including their acquisition), formats, work with colors and their representation, using of the graphical editor, graphics processing (creating , editing, layers, effects), printing
- 4. - 5. The full ECDL module M6 (Presentation) - basic concepts, application for creating presentations, preparation of presentation (design and templates), creation of presentation (formatting, processing of text, images, tables), graphs and diagrams, preparation and revision of outputs
- 6. - 8. The reduced ECDL Module AM6 (Advanced presentation) - principles of presentation design (audience, purpose), the choice of appropriate forms and design (color, style), templates, graphic elements and their use, multimedia, links and navigation, use of presentation (control, time management)
- 9. - 13. The full ECDL module M5 (Using databases) - basic database concepts, structure and database management, application for database processing (work with files), data manipulation, design and creation of tables, information retrieval (queries), input and output data (forms and reports, printing)

- Learning outcomes
- Upon completion of the course the student will be able to: - understand the basic terminology and principles of data processing in database applications with an emphasis on relational databases. - use relational database tools such as MS Access to retrieve the required information. - have insight into concepts related to the processing of raster graphics, and to create and edit the graphics - know the principles how to make successful presentations - use presentation tools such as MS Powerpoint and their advanced capabilities The abilities listed above will be in the range of ECDL modules M9, M6 and M5 and partly also AM6.
