Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the subject of psychology through psychological processes, psychological approaches, research methods, so that they can apply theoretical knowledge in the context of working life. Defines the importance of psychology in human theory and practice. The main topics of the course include: A look at basic psychological phenomena, Modern psychological approaches, A look at personality traits, Emotions, Motivation, Conflicts and negotiation, Stress and its management, Psychopathology, Psychodiagnostics, Social interaction and communication, Techniques using the principles of discipline at work and ability to concentrate, Research psychological methods and their use in practice. The aim is to understand, clarify, predict and subsequently regulate personality processes and manifestations, understand the psychological phenomena and techniques of discipline at work, which help and contribute to success in the work process and are a prerequisite for successful appearance before government agencies, clients, people.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student: Actively masters the techniques of the discipline at work. Evaluates on practical examples based on knowledge of basic psychological methods. He manages the process of self-control, motivation and emotions. He applies the acquired knowledge of psychology as a science to practice. Masters the process of influencing, workload, conflicts, stressful situations and the basic role of psychology. Evaluates attitudes, changes in attitudes and behaviour in terms of personality types and characteristics. Understands the manager's work with individuals and groups and modern psychological approaches and psychodiagnostics.
Syllabus
  • Seminars: 1. Subject of psychology. A look into the basic psychic phenomena (psychic processes, states and properties). 2. Modern psychological approaches - Behavioural approach, Psychoanalytic approach and others, their application in practice. 3. View of personality traits: Four basic personality traits - abilities, temperament, character, resilience. 4. View of personality traits: Big Five - "Big Five". 5. Self-concept, self-formation, self-discipline. What drives us shapes how our minds work, what we are like, what our moods are, and how we can persuade. 6. Emotions / city. Using emotions. Regulation of emotions. Higher, social emotions. The emotional intelligence. 7. Motivation. Performance motivation. Personality development. Specifics of human learning. 8. Stress, health and coping. Conflicts and their solutions. 9. Psychopathology. Manifestations and prognosis of personality disorders. 10. Psychodiagnostics. Psychological testing. The importance of mental hygiene in work and personal life. 11. Social interaction and communication. Basic forms and dimensions of communication. Healthy communication - functional compared to unhealthy communication - dysfunctional. Antisocial and prosocial behaviour. 12. Work in human life. Techniques that use the principles of discipline at work and the ability to concentrate, which help to make a positive start and bring well-being to our working day. Techniques of influencing and negotiating in everyday life. 13. Research psychological methods and their use in practice.

Attendance at classes in all forms is governed by a separate internal standard of VŠTE (Records of student attendance at VŠTE).

The student of the full-time form of study is obliged to fulfill the obligatory 70% attendance at the contact teaching, ie everything except lectures. If the participation is not met, the student will be automatically classified "F".
