The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The thematic lecture cycle ofers an interpretation of the history of architecture with transcendece into other fields (sociology, philosophy, psychology...). It will focus on the basic development of settlements and their forms with a special focus on the key periods of the history of the building culture of the European civilization sircuit. The theoretical position of the topics discucced will be transfered into the level of specific methodologically stimulating examples. After the completion of the course, students will be able to understand the structure value structure of the buildings, they will encounter in practice, and to include these constructions in the development context. The course will focus on categorical terms and their place in thinking about the built einvironment. It will not focus on the encyclopaedic knowledge of historical factuality, but on the understandint of the history of architecture from the point of view of community-based paradigms. The student will be able to place individual architectural scenes into historical and culturalcivilization contexts, not just based on external expression forms.
Learning outcomes
The student is acquainted with the basic development of settlements and their forms with a special focus on the key periods of the history of the building culture of the European civilization circuit. The student is able to understand the value structure of the buildings that will be encountered in practice and to include these constructions in the developmental context. It will control categorical terms and their place in thinking about the built environment. The student understand the history of architecture from the point of view of social paradigms and put individual architectural scenes into historical and cultural-civilization contexts, not only on the basis of external expression forms.

Exam conditions
Final test with the possibility of oral examination - maximum 70 points, tasks entered during the semester maximum 30 points. Total Classification of the Course, ie points for the test (70 - 0) + points from the interim evaluation (30 - 0): A 100 - 90, B 89.99 - 84, C 83.99 - 77, D 76.99 - 73, E 72.99 - 70, FX 69.99 - 30, F 29.99 - 0. Participation in teaching in all forms is solved by a separate internal standard of VŠTE (Evidence of attendance of students at VŠTE). For students of full-time form of study, 70% attendance is compulsory for contact education, ie all except lectures.

The assignment of the seminar work, its content and deadlines will be communicated by the teacher at the first lesson.

Attendance in lessons is defined in a separate internal standard of ITB (Evidence of attendance of students at ITB). It is compulsory, except of the lectures, for full-time students to attend 70 % lesson of the subjet in a semester.
