Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
Students understand the principle of financial analysis and financial reporting. They are able to perform basic methods of financial analysis.
The aim of this course is to provide students with the essential knowledge of financial analysis and planning and basic skills of calculation and evaluation of economic indicators.
Learning outcomes
1. Students will become acquainted with the concept of financial analysis, and with the fact who are the users of financial analysis. 2. The student will become acquainted from what data the necessary information for financial analysis is obtained. 3. The student become acquainted with the basic techniques, methods and objectives that are used in financial analysis. 4. The student understands the performance analysis and will be able to calculate the profit and the value of the contribution of capital. 5. The student will be able to understand and calculate the company's financial risks. 6. The student will be able to calculate the cash flows and analyze them in terms of performance. 7. The student will be able to analyze the development of the financial situation of a company by means of a horizontal one analysis, vertical analysis and time comparison of ratios. 8. The student will understand the bankruptcy models and will be able to calculate them for the prediction financial distress. 9. Student will be able to calculate and assess the financial health of the company using credit models. 10. Student will be able to calculate stock market indices and economic added value. 11. The student will understand how strategic management is related to financial planning. 12. Student will understand the specifics of long-term financial planning. 13. Student will understand the specifics of short-term financial planning.
