Course objectives supported by learning outcomes

Learning outcomes of the course unit The main objective of the course is to acquire basic knowledge of the general economy of the company and then with a specific focus on the economy of the transport company. The subject extends students' knowledge of general economics and economics. Students will get acquainted with the basic concepts used in the transport economy, will understand the specifics of transport financing, the calculation of demonstrable loss, a reasonable profit. It can also characterize the specifics of accounting operations in transport companies and is able to distribute costs between carriers. A graduate of a subject is willing to understand the financing of transport as a whole.

Learning outcomes

The graduate is ready to understand the economy of the transport company. It is able to determine and recognize individual costs. He is able to calculate the prices of the transport company. He knows the principles of financing transport as a whole.

Syllabus

• 1. The nature of the business and the enterprise, the business objectives and the business environment. 2. Classification of enterprises, business life cycle and enterprise restructuring. 3. Business organizational structures 4. Transformation process of the enterprise - property structure of the enterprise, valuation and depreciation of fixed assets. 5. Transformation process of a company - company's capital structure, business valuation, optimal capital structure. 6. Costs, revenues, profit. 7. Strategic, tactical and operational management of the company, its tools, business plan of the company. 8. Characteristics of the company's production activity, production program, optimization and planning of the production process, planning and utilization of production capacity. 9. Financial management of the enterprise, types and ways of financing the company, financial analysis of the company. 10. Taxes and Tax System of the Czech Republic. 11. Procedure for evaluating the effectiveness of investments and indicators of economic efficiency of investments. 12. Business sales, business sales strategies, business conception planning, pricing methods. 13. Basics of transport business. 14. Definition of basic concepts related to public service performance in passenger transport (within the framework of transport services). 15. Financing of transport companies, principles of transport and tariff policy in transport. 16. Transportation and tariff policy. 17. Factors affecting the demand for transport services of the transport undertaking. 18. Supply of transport company performance. 19. Expenses, revenues and profit of the transport company. 20. External transport costs. 21. Characteristics characterizing the operating performance of the transport undertaking. 22. Preparation and planning of transport services of the transport company. 23. Pricing in transport. 24. Evaluation of investment in transport. 25. Accounting operations in transport, their specifics. 26. Breakdown of costs and benefits between carriers, division of freight.
