Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
Introduction to the design of supporting building structures. Knowledge of elementary design systems and single-storey and multi-storey buildings. Structural systems indoor buildings, towers, superconstruction. Basic types of horizontal and vertical load-bearing structures by technology and materials.

  • 1.Terminology, design concept of buildings, modular coordination 2.Vývoj construction of buildings, the requirements for building construction 3.Construction design, construction materials, lifespan, modernization and reconstruction of buildings 4.Construction systems, classification, principles and technologies, providing spatial rigidity, load, stability 5.Structural system design conception, external influences affecting buildings, interaction design elements 6.Dilatatation joints in load-bearing structures 7.Vertical structures - functions and requirements 8.Vertical structures - principles of structural design, technology and material variations 9.Horizontal structures - functions and requirements 10.Horizontal structures - principles of structural design 11.Horizontal structures - technology and material variations 12.Chimney ventilation and body-functions and requirements, principles of structural design 13.Overhanging and receding constructions

The test will be in written form. In exceptional cases, the teacher may test the student orally. The final test has 7 questions. Evaluation of final test 0 - 19 points. Grading Scale: A [19 to 18 points] B [17 to 16 points] C [15 to 14 points] D [13 to 12 points] E [11 to 10 points]
