Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim is to teach students how to design elements of concrete and masonry structures according to European technical standards, including the development of design documentation, to teach them the principles of concrete and masonry elements and help them understand the links between structural mechanics and design of components.
Syllabus
  • - Design policy of concrete structures - Terms of reliability, safety factors -Basic requirements for the design and implementation of concrete structures -Overview of the ultimate limit states and applicability -Starting values ​​for the calculation, the properties of concrete and reinforcing steel -Methods of concrete structure design in the limit states - normal force limit exceeding, and pressure into and out of the centre -Methods of concrete structures in the   bearing capacity limit- the exceeding limit by bending, by shearing -Methods of concrete structures at the ultimate limit states   - perforation and tearing, twisting limit breaking -Methods of concrete structures in the limit state - limit state of deformation limit state of crack width -Methods of concrete structures in the limit state - shaping and shrinkage -Materials for masonry construction and the arrangement of the   construction, strength and deformation properties of masonry Limit-state resistance for masonry structures and limit states for the masonry

Submission of the project is a condition for admission to the exam.Test (written and oral): the student receives questions to answer. The test must be accomplished for more than 50% of the total marks.
