The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the technological issues and the management of public transport (public transport), with emphasis on the practical operation in large cities and conurbations. The graduate of the course is able to characterize regularities of technology and controlling of public transport and to use the acquired knowledge to solve practical problems in this area (public transport network analysis, optimization of timetables on selected routes, designing of improvement measures based on identified deficiencies).
Learning outcomes
A Student has complex review about a public traffic issues after finising the subject.
Syllabus
  • 1) Transport services. • 2) Characteristics and factors affecting the public transport. • 3) The organization and management of public transport. • 4) Emergency situations in public transport. • 5) Transportation plan, creation of public transport lines. • 6) Intervals, Timetables, coordination of public transport lines. • 7) Operative management of public transport. • 8) Vehicles and subsystems of individual and public city transport. • 9) Technological characteristics of mass passenger transport vehicles. • 10) Promoting and preferences of public transport. • 11) Direct and indirect instruments of promoting and preferences of public transport. • 12) Information tools for passengers and for official use in public transport, quality of public transport. • 13) Integrated public transport terminals, their importance, possible types of construction solutions.
