Prerequisites
Students should have basic knowledge of the   ground constructions including concrete, steel and timber structures of building materials and structural engineers.
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim is to present fire prevention in buildings and construction. Students, after successful completion of this course, have a basic overview and knowledge in the field of fire protection of buildings, fire resistance of building structures, dividing the building into fire compartments, distances, escape routes, fire safety equipment, etc. They know the principles of work and they are able to suggest measures for providing fire protection at construction sites.
Learning outcomes
Students, after successful completion of this course, is able to: - define fire resistance of building structures - divide the building into fire compartments - calculate the fire distances, - dimension escape routes, etc. - suggest measures for providing fire protection at construction sites
Syllabus
  • Fire safety design of the building. The application and extent of fire safety design of the building in various stages of project documentation as defined in the Building Code and the Fire Protection Act. The interpretation of the CSN 73 0802 fire safety of buildings - non-manufacturing buildings. Clarification of terms, explanations of basic calculations and procedures. The interpretation of the CSN 73 0804 fire safety of buildings - industrial facilities. Clarification of terms, explanation of basic calculations, particularly garage. Specific objects - objects of medical equipment, objects to gather more people, storage buildings, agricultural buildings, educational facilities, buildings for housing and accommodation - interpretation of basic concepts, interpretation of these links to specific objects CSN 73 0802 and CSN 73 0804th Building materials from the point of view of fire safety - advantage, disadvantage, technical surface working

Project – semestral 30 %
Exam conditions
A. Write a numerical example of a test at least 50% points. B. To write the final test to a minimum of 55% of 70 points, ie. to 38 points. The written test consists of a set of open questions. It is up to 90 minutes to elaborate. C. An additional 30 points can be earned for the semester work assigned to the exercise, which will be submitted for inspection according to the schedule set by the training teacher. Attendance at seminars is obligatory (max. 3 absences without excuse). The semestral project is elaborated in the form of assessment of the building in terms of fire safety of buildings in the form of documentation and calculations required for the building permit (according to Decree No. 499/2006 Coll., Annex No. 5). D. If the student is interested, it is possible to perform an oral examination, where it is possible to obtain a maximum of 5 points for the written test. The maximum score of all parts is 100. For successful completion of the course it is necessary to achieve a total of at least 70 points consisting of the sum of points from parts A, B and ev. C, ie 70%. Overall classification: A 100-90, B 89.99-84, C 83.99-77, D 76.99-73, E 72.99-70, FX 69.99-30, F 29.99-0. Prerequisites and co-requisites The condition for enrollment for the exam is to meet the requirements of the exercise.

Participation in all forms of education is solved by a separate internal standard of VŠTE (Evidence of attendance of students at VŠTE). For full-time students, 70% attendance at contact instruction, ie everything except lectures.
