- The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic technical and operational characteristics of combined transport systems, as well as organizational and technological conditions for their implementation in practice.
- Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to characterize the basic requirements for the implementation of intermodal transport systems, will be able to design intermodal transport systems independently, to solve the cargo handling technology, to determine the operational necessity of individual elements of the technical basis of intermodal transport.
- Syllabus
- 1) Basic concepts in combined transport, the importance and effects of combined transport. 2) Technical and technological characteristics of transportation systems in combined transport - part 1. 3) Technical and technological characteristics of transportation systems in combined transport - part 2. 4) Legislation of combined transport. 5) Systemic measures to support the development of combined transport in the Czech Republic. 6) The organization of combined transport (implementation, statistics). 7) Operators in Czech Republic. 8) Intermodal load units in combined transport (definitions, types). 9) Means of transport in commbined transport. 10) Handling equipments in combined transport. 11) Combined transport terminals (characteristics, basic elements). 12) Technology of transport service in combined transport terminals. 13) Combined transport terminals in the Czech Republic.

- Grading of the course: Final Test: maximum 100% (0-100 points). Successful graduates of the course have to get totally at least 70 points: A 100 – 90, B 89,99 – 84, C 83,99 – 77, D 76,99 – 73, E 72,99 – 70, FX 69,99 – 30, F 69,99 - 0.

Účast na výuce ve všech formách řeší samostatná vnitřní norma VŠTE (Evidence docházky studentů na VŠTE). Pro studenty prezenční formy studia je docházka na seminářích nesledována z důvodu samostané práce na semestrálním projektu, zaměřeném na návrh intermodálního přepravního systému jako varianty klasických stávajících přepravních systémů. Na začátku semestru student obdrží zadání projektu, v závěru semestru bude probíhat obhajoba zpracovaného projektu. V průběhu semestru bude čas semináře určený na individuální konzultace. Attendance in lessons is defined in a separate internal standard of ITB (Evidence of attendance of students at ITB). For students of full-time study, the attendance at the seminars is not monitored due to the individual work on a semester project aimed at designing an intermodal transport system as a variant of classical existing transport systems. At the beginning of the semester the student will receive the project, at the end of the semester will be the defense of the elaborated project. During the semester, the time of the seminar will be for individual consultations.
