Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
The capacity limit for the course is 135 student(s).
Current registration and enrolment status: enrolled: 0/135, only registered: 0/135
Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with steel structures, designing and making of them according to the applicable European and national technical standards. After successful completion of the course knows the principles of calculation of steel structures, including computational models. They can design and evaluate their supporting elements to the basic types of stress (tension, compression, bending, shear and torsion), including combinations thereof. It is able to design and evaluate basic types of connections of steel structures. Can identify and assess transformation and usability elements and structures.
Syllabus
  • 1. General characteristics, classification and application of steel structures 2 Production of construction steel and construction material 3 Basic properties and characteristics of structural steels and material testing their 4 production, installation and maintenance of steel structures 5 Principles and reliability design of steel structures 6 Limit states design of steel structures and applicable technical standards 7 Bearing walls and classification sectional steel structures Resistance of 8 and an element in tension or compression. Buckling bearing capacity of compression members Resistance 9 sections and elements stressed by flexure. Resistance elements bent at a pitch of 10 Resistance of a member loaded in shear, torsion and stress combined 11 joints of steel structures, design and assessment of 12 examples and analysis of steel structures of buildings 13 examples and analysis of steel structures hall
