- Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
- The aim of the course is to introduce students to the importance of combined transport as an alternative to direct transportation with an emphasis on environmental protection. During the course, students are introduced to all possible combinations of vehicles in the creation of a combined transport chain, which moves intermodal transport unit. After completing the course the students acquainted with the basic concepts of combined transport and are able to solve the transport situation in the real environment. Graduates of the course are able to suggest appropriate means of transport, they can design a transport chain in intermodal transport.

- 1) Meaning of combined transport from the perspective of the Czech Republic and Europe. Involvement in global intermodal transport chains.
- 2) Legislation regulating the combined transport on national and international level.
- 3) Requirements for transportation infrastructure, gauge, loading gauge.
- 4) The terminals for combined transport.
- 5) Vehicles for combined shipping.
- 6) Intermodal Loading Unit (ILU), the definition, types of ILU.
- 7) Combined transport -Accompanied.
- 8) Combined transport- Unaccompanied.
- 9) Consolidation and fixation of products in ILU.
- 10) Transport handling of consignments ILU.
- 11) New technologies in intermodal transport (unrealized).
- 12) Operators engaged in combined transport.
- 13) Economic indicators.

Test – mid-term - Exam conditions
- Students will write during the semester mid-term test. The exam consists of written test and oral exam. Students will make a test and then they will take place on an oral examination, which will parse each question of the test.
