Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic accounting methods and procedures and issues of payroll accounting. Emphasis is placed on the correct definition of assets and liabilities, costs and revenues, understanding the principle of duality and correlation, the ability to handle basic accounting cases, compile balance sheets and profit and loss statements, the ability to calculate and also record gross wages, calculate and determine the amount of super-gross wages, calculate , determine and account for contributions to health and social insurance, calculate, determine and account for personal income tax contributions, including orientation in the issue - tax rebates.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student:
- defines the basic categories (definition of assets and liabilities, costs and revenue, the principle of duality and correlation),
- resolve basic accounting cases and compile a balance sheet and profit and loss account,
- identify, classify and record basic economic operations; and can correctly account for basic economic operations in the enterprise,
- Correctly assess the economic situation of the undertaking from the information obtained in the accounts,
- is able to orientate in wage policy - ie he can calculate net wage, super-gross wage, tax liability and also health and social insurance and can account for the issue of wages

  • 10. Calculation and accounting of wages - acquaintance with the Labor Code a wage policy in the Czech Republic, calculation of gross and net wages, accounting of wages.
  • 11. Calculation and accounting of health and social security contributions - settlement with employees and social and health institutions insurance, calculation and accounting.
  • 12. Calculation and accounting of personal income tax - tax calculation income tax, income tax accounting, the principle of using tax rebates and tax bonus.

Exam conditions
The evaluation of the course consists of a continuous evaluation (30 - 0 points) and a final test (70 - 0 points). The overall classification is the sum of the points from the mid-term evaluation and the final evaluation. Overall classification of the subject, ie points from the final evaluation (70 - 0) + points from the mid-term evaluation (30 - 0 points): A 100 - 90, B 89,99 - 84, C 83,99 - 77, D 76, 99 - 73, E 72.99 - 70, FX 69.99 - 30, F 29.99 - 0.

Students in the full-time form of study are obliged to participate in 70 % of the lessons (except for lectures). If this condition is not fulfilled, the student will automatically get “-” grade.

Teacher's information
Attendance in all forms of teaching is regulated by a separate internal standard of the VŠTE (Record of Student Attendance at the VŠTE). For full-time students, 70% attendance at seminars is compulsory.

Students with an individual study plan may only take the 100-point final test in the examination period, upon agreement with the teacher. In this case, they are obliged to contact the teacher in their seminar group (kabourkova@mail.vstecb.cz or hortova@mail.vstecb.cz ) with their request immediately after the approval of their individual study plan. If they fail to do so, their request will not be taken into account afterwards. The midterm test in the case of full-time study will take place approximately in the 5th-7th week of the course, the details to be specified by the instructor. The date of the midterm test for the combi course will be set at the first tutorial.
