- The aim of the course is to understand the basic role and principles of corporate leadership. Students will learn the fundamentals of leadership philosophy leading to effective management of people and achievement of corporate goals. Leadership is not only about management, but also about building relationships, communication and supporting innovation.
- Learning outcomes
- After successful graduation from the course, the student:
will learn the basic role and principles of corporate leadership;
will learn the competencies of leaders;
will acquire the knowledge to manage communication and possible conflicts between people involved in achieving the vision of the company;
will be able to fulfill the content of managerial functions from the position of a corporate leader;
will learn the principles of corporate ethics as an integral part of the corporate management system. - Syllabus
- Lectures: 1. Introduction to Leadership, basic definitions, philosophies and concepts.
- 2. Basic roles of a leader, vision and values.
- 3. The personality of the leader, the role of motivation in the process of leadership development.
- 4. Trust and reputation, selected approaches to building trust.
- 5. Power, influence and their role in achieving organizational goals.
- 6. Hierarchy and interpersonal relationships, leader and followers.
- 7. Organizational culture and the intercultural dimension of leadership.
- 8. Communication and conflict management from the position of a leader.
- 9. Strategic planning and decision making from the position of a leader.
- 10. Resource allocation from the position of a leader.
- 11. Risk management from the position of a leader.
- 12. Innovators and innovation as an accelerator of progress.

- For successful passing of the course it is necessary to achieve a minimum of 70 points in the final test. Overall course classification: A 100 - 90, B 89,99 - 84, C 83,99 - 77, D 76,99 - 73, E 72,99 - 70, FX 69,99 - 30, F 29,99 - 0.

- A full-time student is obliged to attend contact classes, i.e. everything except lectures, meet the mandatory 70% attendance. If attendance is not met, the student will be will automatically be graded "-".
Information for students with an ISP (individual study plan). A student with an individual study plan is obliged to contact the teacher immediately after ISP approval. If the student does not do so, their ISP will not be taken into account. In case of any questions, students with ISP can contact the subject guarantor via email strakova@vste.cz.
