Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
In this course, students will get acquainted with the issues of basic aspects of civil law with the definition of the most commonly used legal terms. The aim is to acquaint them with the issue of lex specialis of the law governing private law, the legal status of an individual in society, and the general theory of civil law with a focus on legal relations, legal proceedings, liability relations, legal facts, tenancy relations, contractual relations and more.
Basic knowledge of the issue is the primary cornerstone for orientation in civil law and related legal norms and forms a lex generalis for other branches of private law, without which knowledge of advanced knowledge from other branches of law cannot be required.
The course thematically follows the basic theory of legal science. The aim of the course is also to acquaint students with specific selected legal issues of private law with a focus on civil law, which is addressed by each citizen, and complement the profile of students and graduates.
Particular attention is also paid to the area of ​​obligations between civil law and the law of business corporations. Students will also be introduced to the issue of labor relations.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student:
Applies the knowledge gained from the Civil Code.
Distinguishes between individual legal and illegal actions with emphasis on actions tacit, tacit and explicit.
Describes, including an explanation of the legal fact.
Explains rights in rem, ownership, co-ownership and relationship to foreign things.
Understands the process of marriage, registered partnership and cohabitation in relation to property and inheritance.
Uses knowledge and skills in contract analysis.
Understands the differences between tort, delict, disciplinary action and criminal act.

  • 1. Concept, subject and system of civil law (concept, regulation, civil law Code and its structure, relation to other branches of law)
  • 2. Civil law relations (participants, natural and legal persons, legal proceedings, representation)
  • 3. Legal facts in civil law
  • 4. Matters and rights in rem (rights in rem, co-ownership and rights to things foreign)
  • 5. Marriage, registered partnership, cohabitation and their relation to property
  • 6. Inheritance, inheritance (legislation and definition)
  • 7. Law of obligations (obligations, classification, liability, origin, change, securing, termination)
  • 8. Contractual relations and types of contracts (purchase and exchange contract, types purchase contracts
  • 9. Contract of donation, For selected types of contracts I according to the civil of the Code (Loan and borrowing agreement, lease and sublease agreement, lease agreement)
  • 10. On selected types of contracts II - special types of origin (contract distance, public offer, public contract, public competition, public promise)
  • 11. Contracts in labor law (employment contract, implementation agreement work, agreement on work activity, agreement on material responsibility)
  • 12. Liability for damage, injury, unjust enrichment, unjustified property benefit (concept, meaning of legislation, principles)

To successfully complete the course, it is necessary to achieve a sum of continuous and final evaluation of at least 70% under the conditions set out below. In the continuous evaluation, 30 points can be obtained, ie 30%. A total of 70 points, ie 70%, can be obtained in the final evaluation. Overall classification of the course, ie points for the final evaluation (70 - 0) + points from the continuous evaluation (30 - 0): A 100 - 90, B 89,99 - 84, C 83,99 - 77, D 76,99 - 73, E 72.99 - 70, FX 69.99 - 30, F 29.99 - 0.

Teacher's information
Attendance at classes in all forms is solved by a separate internal standard of VŠTE (Records of student attendance at VŠTE). Students with an individual study plan will take only a 100-point final test from the NZ_TPP course in the examination period. However, students are obliged to contact the teacher immediately after the approval of the individual study plan (ISP), if the student does not do so, his ISP will not be taken into account. In case of any questions, they can contact the guarantor of the subject via email 30141@mail.vstecb.cz (dr. Stanislav).
