- Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
- The course objective is to deepen student´s language knowledge to the level B1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. After the successful completion of the course, students are able to: understand extended speech and follow even complex arguments, understand articles dealing with contemporary problems, present a detailed descriptions on a wide range of subjects and interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity, write clear, detailed texts on a wide range of subjects.
- Learning outcomes
- He/She can understand extended speech provided the topic is reasonably familiar. He/She can understand in detail texts within his/her field of interest and the area of professional specialization. He/She can present clear detailed descriptions on a wide range of subjects related to his/her field of interests and study. He/She can write a clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects related to his/her interests.

- The assessment of daily and part-time students involves a continuous assessment (up to 30 points) during the semester and a final test (up to 70 points) in the examination period. To pass the exam, students have to achieve no less than 70 points together from both parts. Students are allowed for retaking the final test upon achieving no less than 30 points from the final test.

- Teacher's information
- The lessons will take place in classrooms on the university premises. The attendance of daily students is compulsory and monitored under the relevant regulation governing the attendance. Part-time students have no obligation to be present at seminars. Students with approved Individual Study Plan (ISP) shall meet the deadline for the continuous assessment upon mutual agreement with the teacher. The students concerned shall inform the teacher about the approved ISP immediately after the approval. If the student fails to inform the teacher about the matter therein, his/her claims on the issue will be renounced. In the event of further questions, please contact the guarantor of the subject via email: turinska@vste.cz If a student does not hold a certificate of the required level but their knowledge corresponds to the required exit level, they may request that the instructor administer a placement test. If the test is completed with a score of 80% or higher, the student’s attendance will not be monitored in the given semester. However, the student is still required, in agreement with the instructor, to complete ongoing assessments and the final assessment at the usual times (according to the instructor’s instructions).
