Prerequisites
BEK_1 Concrete structures I.
The student has knowledge of the following subjects   Concrete Structures I, Flexibility and Strenght, Structural Mechanics 1 and 2
Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
The goal is to teach students designing concrete structures according to European technical standards, including working out drawing documentation.
Learning outcomes
After successful completion the student operates with structural design principles of ceiling panels, frame and wall structures, stairways, basement and retaining walls, wall beams, foundation structures. S/he knows computational models, simple and general method of calculation, reinforcing methods. He will be able to explain the principles of designing of prestressed structures.S/he will be able to design elements and construction of assembled systems. In practice, s/he will be able to design and assess the overhead structure and foundation design, including the project documentation. Graduates of the subject can calculate cross-reinforced ceiling structures, staircases, retaining walls.
Syllabus
  • 1. Structural elements, idealization of the structure of the plate supported by the circumference, calculation of bending moments on the plates supported by the circumference, simplified methods of solving the plates, use of tables. 2. Slab reinforcement, construction principles, distribution reinforcement, slab edges, penetrations. Summary of the issue, unidirectionally and bidirectionally tensioned plates. 3. Serviceability limit states, Static action, boards full, lightened. Linear and concentrated loads. Reinforcement of boards with bound reinforcement and curry nets. 4. Locally supported boards, static action. Simplified methods for solving locally supported boards. Summation moments method, spare frames method. Extrusion of locally supported plates, reinforcement for extrusion, reinforcement of locally supported plates. 5. Frame structures, computational models, load cases, load combinations, solution methods. 6. Addition to the problems of BZK1 (shear, torsion, elements stressed by a combination of normal force and moment, struts of pressed elements, the concept of slender column, second order effects, methods of solution). 7. Reinforcement of frame structures, solution of joints of reinforced concrete frame structures. 8. Stability of buildings, Reinforcing walls, cores, Simplified methods for solving the stability of buildings. 9. Foundation structures, foundation feet made of plain and ferrous concrete, foundation strips and slabs. 10. Stairs, design solutions, calculation and reinforcement of individual variants. 11. Basement walls, retaining walls, wall beams, method of strut and tie calculation. 12. Prefabricated structures - peculiarities of design, joints of prefabricated structures. 13. Principle of prestressed structure design.
