Enrollment of the subject assumes the successful completion of courses focused on the typology of buildings, design and building construction (Building Construction I and II, Typology of buildings I and II). - Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives supported by learning outcomes
- Obtaining a comprehensive view of the architectural design of the building based on knowledge from the field of architectural composition and design while respecting the principles of landscape and urban design and the interaction of the building and the environment. Acquiring knowledge of architectural designing of buildings while respecting the typological principles and basic principles of the design of building structures in the context of sustainable development.

- The student is able to: - to design an architectural solution of the specified type of construction in several variants; - design disposition and construction-construction; - prepare the project documentation according to the valid regulations.
- Syllabus
- The atelier is the main and pivotal tool of complex teaching of building design and civil engineering. Learning is based on the "learning by doing" method, ie. the acquisition of knowledge and skills through practical applications. The atelier is led by the supervisor of the atelier and the consultants with the student over the project.
Tasks are assigned and coordinated by the supervisor of the atelier. The project by type of assignment and specializations is consulted by the teachers of the VŠTE Department of Construction. The atelier project is demonstrated during presentations (criticism) and evaluated according to predetermined criteria.
Design of the architectural concept of building the building in multiple variants. Study of interaction between landscape, urban environment and buildings. Survey and preparation of project documentation. Architectural study of the given building - situation, floor plans, views and accompanying report.

Evaluation of the subject:
100-70 points = passed
69-0 points = un-passed
The project will be on a graphical level prescribed, completed and handed in sheets with laces, possibly in the form of an A3 booklet. On the front side of the boards will be the description field, on the reverse side the contents of the project.
A) Input materials
- Section of the territorial (regulatory) plan - comprehensive proposal incl. legends and binding regulations, related information from the text section (demography, transport, monuments, greenery, water areas, ...)
- Situation of wider relations (1:2000 – 1:5000)
- Current viewport cadastral maps 1:1000

- Historical maps of the territory including a survey on the development of the territory

B) Analysis of broader relationships, location and site limitations- Analysis wider relations, spatial structure, physical and compositional elements
- Site analysis (site situation supplemented with above ground elements - lighting, communications, greenery, heights and shapes of roofing of surrounding objects, entrances and entrances to buildings, color and material surface design, vista, street lines, axes, dominants)
- Drawing of construction site limiting factors (composition of materials based on input and analysis, penetration of all of the above-mentioned elements with surface indications and other limiting elements for the construction of a particular object under consideration)
C) Analysis of building type- Reference buildings (min. 1 historical and 2 contemporary, min. 2 czech a 1 foreign)

D) Architectural study of own object according to assignment- Companion Report

- Attendance in lessons is defined in a separate internal standard of ITB (Evidence of attendance of students at ITB). It is compulsory, except of the lectures, for full-time students to attend 70 % lesson of the subject in a semester.
