N2  - This contribution deals with the problems associated with language examinations in the Czech Republic. The task was to describe their structure and to focus on the comparison of the input language skills with the real level of knowledge of those who pass them. By analysing the issues surrounding language skills we wanted to draw attention to the direct relation between the level of knowledge of foreign languages and the opportunities to succeed in today’s labour market.
